Headlight on Traffic Safety

On behalf of the University of Florida Police Department, I would like to welcome our returning students back to campus. For our incoming Freshman and transfer students, welcome to UF.

As you may have noticed in your first few days on campus, there is quite a bit of traffic and with that traffic comes congestion. There are many modes of transportation available for getting around campus and we would like to focus on one of those modes to ensure your safe movement around.

This fall we are focusing on bicycles as one method of transportation that is heavily utilized on campus. “Headlight on Traffic” is a safety brochure that the UFPD publishes twice a year to focus on safety information related to various forms of transportation.

Please take a few moments to visit the following link to review our "Headlight on Traffic Safety" brochure regarding bicycle laws and safety.

While you are on the UFPD website, please feel free to check out the entire website to gain a better understanding of our police department and the many programs and services that are available to you.

Again, it is great to have everyone back on campus and I look forward to a fun and safe fall semester.

Sincerely,

Linda Stump
Chief of Police
