About

Our History

GEMRU was established in 2015 as a volunteer medical response unit on the University of Florida campus. We are an entity of the University Police Department and therefore a division of Public Safety. Our responders are all UF students with EMT or EMR certificates. We offer 911 medical coverage for the UF campus as well as medical standby at events. Additionally, We also offer CPR, Stop the Bleed Classes, and presentations on Alcohol/Drug safety for the community.

Our Mission.

The mission of the Gator Emergency Medical Response Unit is to deliver high-quality emergency medical services and community health initiatives to the University of Florida, fostering a safer, more conscientious campus community.
