Emergency Skills Workshop
The Emergency Skills Workshop is fully hands-on to teach individuals to be prepared in different emergency situations.
It will be an approximately 90-minute class, consisting of three main stations that all address separare emergencies that can happen and what to do in the meantime, when waiting for emergency medical services (EMS) to respond.
‘Hands-only’ CPR
- Using real-time feedback mannequins
- How to recognize cardiac arrest
- Compression portion of CPR
Basic first aid/bandaging
- How to identify different types of bleeding
- Types of bandaging: spiral, makeshift pressure, tourniquet, head injuries
- Splinting long bones
Signs of Alcohol Poisoning/Opioid Overdose and Narcan Training
- Overview of the Medical Amnesty policy
- How to recognize alcohol poisoning or opioid overdose
- Recovery position
- When and how to administer Narcan
